What purpose is something like blood magic for? Never run into it.

I've tried that as well, and I didn't care for it.

Blood magic is for when you're a streetrat from the Run and the only way to learn magic is to decide it's worth the trade of blood and a few half-arsed prayers to the Raven Queen. The Orders will teach you it for the price of following their rules, their regulations and their contracts. Hunting monsters for coin is the main purpose, but they have very little imagination.

...doesn't sound so dissimilar to the way things work where we're from, though, minus the prayer. There's not so much that people worship these days.

I don't do either anymore - the prayers or the contracts. It was boring. Stifling. Limiting. A werewolf was always yelling at you. I'd started getting more entertaining offers at any rate, so I found a group of like-minded individuals, and we got to work.
