I suspect one of two things. The first, that Dahut was killed in a way that would compromise the company, and they will lie to us about the truth and expect us to be satisfied with that at the risk of our safety.

Killing generally happens for a reason. Could be a shite reason - gold, girls, didn't like the shade of green - but seems scant reason around to me.
